The Quality Inspector ensures that machine shop products accurately meet drawing requirements through first part, in-process and final inspection prior to release to inventory. The Quality Inspector also maintains the calibration program for precision measuring devices.

Requirements

· Following written company procedures and applicable outside certification standards, ensure all machine shop

products, holders and accessories meet drawing, work order and customer requirements

· Ensure parts in CNC area are produced properly through first part and in-process inspection

· Inspect all rupture disc holder drilling and tagging

· Route accepted parts and products to next processing stage

· Document non-conforming parts or products and route them to designated holding area

· Calibrate and maintain inventory of measuring equipment, including pressure, control and computer gauges

· Track and enter inspection data into computer

· Develop non-conformance charts and run weekly updates

· Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED, Associate’s Degree in Industrial Technology or related field preferred

· Ability to read blueprints

· Intermediate math and reading skills

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Experience in manufacturing Quality Control

· Internal Auditing experience to ISO 9001 Standards

· Working knowledge of computers sufficient to successfully use company ERP system, Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel

· Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance

· Understanding of AS9100 Quality Management System

· CMM Programming

Physical Requirements:

· Sufficient manual dexterity to successfully use a computer

· Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day, though possibly more

· Frequently required to stand and/or walk, up to 2 hours per day, and make occasional trips from the office area to the

manufacturing area

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as needed

· Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment when in the manufacturing area, including, but not limited to,

safety glasses and safety shoes

· Vision Requirements:  Acuity of 20/30 or better in either eye; Read the Jaeger No. 2 Eye Chart at 16 inches.
