Trinity Metro has an immediate opening for Rail Business Analyst, the incumbent will be responsible for contract and quality support, performs and coordinates business and financial analysis for the Commuter rail and engineering departments; maintains departmental key performance indicators; assist with the Rail Quality and Performance Program, coordinates budgeting, invoicing and other financial activities with internal and external stakeholders; plans, manages, and assists in the development of complex projects supporting rail and engineering departments. Provides support to the rail and engineering departments.

The position responsibilities include: 

  • Performs analysis; interprets data and prepares presentations for various entities. Analyzes and uses results from spreadsheets and other databases.
  • Assists other team members with program/project strategy and management.
  • Guides the development, interpretation, and application of departmental policies and procedures in support of Agency and departmental goals.
  • Develops and monitors portions of department work programs and planning projects.
  • Monitor and produce monthly Rail Quality and Performance Program outcomes, using PowerPoint presentations. 
  • Reviews data adequacy, approval of methodologies, compliance with program/project budgets, schedules, and quality control of work program and work products.
  • Continually explores and develops new program/project performance metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Provides back-up for other staff, ensuring timely responses to customer requests, concerns, commendations, etc., and helps resolve customer issues.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a master Operation and Maintenance Letter of Authorization (LOA) contract tracking and reporting system for major purchases and projects, to include status and timelines within the Rail Department.
  • Prepares routine reports to allow for effective decision-making by department personnel.
  • Manages agenda reports for the rail and engineering departments and prepares responses for the rail operation and project inquiries.
  • Coordinates and schedules all required meetings, minutes, agendas, and associated items for the Rail Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below-stated minimums, including High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Finance, Public Administration, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a rail transportation environment or related field.
