Position Overview
Our Summer Analyst/Associate Internship program mirrors the analyst experience to give you an understanding of our business and experience project work at Charles River Associates. Throughout the 8-10 week program, Analyst/Associate Interns work alongside senior colleagues to deliver live client consulting projects within the practice area. Along the way, you’ll benefit from professional development and wellness support programs, social events to connect you with peers and a collegial work environment. Successful interns will be offered a full-time position following graduation.
During the Data Analytics Internship program, you may work on many aspects of a project:
- Apply data analytics, AI/ML, and LLM techniques in life sciences context to enhance clients’ understanding of key business, risk, strategic, or regulatory issues
- Work with large healthcare and real-world evidence (RWE) datasets (>100MM records) to generate critical insights that inform business strategy, regulatory, and litigation contexts
- Build statistical and machine learning models, cloud-based solutions, or custom visualizations to support applications such as disease area insights, drug launch strategy, and medical information query handling, leveraging AI and generative AI techniques
- Assist with the collection, loading, standardization, and identification of relevant data for analysis
- Communicate findings to your team members via visuals, data tables and models, and assist with the development of client materials
- Contribute to knowledge management and research activities beyond analytics, leveraging AI to synthesize literature and competitive landscape
This is NOT a technical IT role but a consulting position requiring strong analytics, problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s (non-MBA) degree candidates graduating December 2026/Summer 2027 with a related academic focus (Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Management Information Systems, or related)
- Experience or strong interest in AI/ML, LLMs, cloud and data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, etc.)
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with experience in utilizing AI services or automation tools and scripts to expedite analyses
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership
- Proven initiative, leadership, teamwork, and time management
- Clear and demonstrated interest in life sciences consulting, shown through coursework, research, professional / academic activities, or attendance at CRA recruiting events

Work Location Flexibility

This range is specific to individuals applying to work in our New York office and considers several factors including but not limited to experience, education level, and expertise. A good-faith estimate of the base wage range for this role is $30 - $37.50 per hour; actual total compensation may also include benefits and bonus.
