Harbor’s Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare/private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit.

We are seeking compassionate, highly qualified full-time and part-time LPNs to join our teams to deliver excellent care for our residents. The ideal candidates will have senior living experience (e.g., long-term care, assisted living, memory support) with a passion for working with an elderly population. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned. Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens as assigned.
- Primarily responsible for answering Clinic telephone and routing calls in a courteous, pleasant and professional manner
- Primarily responsible for instituting and coordinating and documenting Urgent Nursing Care Services. Maintains medical records in compliance with facility policy and procedure. Maintains sufficient levels of forms in an organized manner for the Clinic. Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information. Re-stock emergency bag that is kept in the clinic and all exams' rooms as needed.
- Responsible for assisting in the coordination of resident medical appointments and ensuring required paperwork is complete. Respond to urgent calls as a member of the STAT Team, as assigned.
- Provides support in preparing clinical records for physician visits. Ensure all clinical documentation is scanned into the appropriate medical record.
- Maintains an up-to-date laboratory and diagnostic testing record and facilitates obtaining these test results promptly.
- Assist in reordering medical supplies as needed. Assist with resident related needs within scope of qualifications and training as directed by the Physician, Health Services Administrator, or designee. Assists/performs venipuncture, performs basic laboratory testing, disposes of contaminated supplies, and sanitizes medical instruments as needed.
- Provides clerical support for other areas of Health Services, if needed.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience working with elderly individuals.
- Required: Possess a current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant from the State Board of Nursing of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Current certification in Adult CPR and AED required.
- Experience in the CCRC, Long term, or assisted living level of care industry or related field is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, medical supplies, and equipment. Experience with clinical and diagnostic procedures. Assessment and documentation skills.
- Moderate computer skills. Experience with use of electronic medical records.
- Strong reading, writing, and communication skills; ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with the elderly population, staff, families, and the management team in a respectful, compassionate, and patient manner, while showing flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills
- Consistently upholds residents’ rights, showing integrity and discretion when handling personal and health-related information.
