Plumbing Materials Logistics Manager
Position Description
Hillpointe seeks a dynamic and results-driven Plumbing Materials Logistics Manager to lead multiple projects while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage geographically dispersed construction teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position's key responsibilities include coordinating the procurement, inventory, and delivery of plumbing materials, fixtures, and equipment, while ensuring compliance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC). This role requires bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and field staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement of plumbing materials, fixtures, piping, valves, and equipment according to project specifications and code requirements.
- Review vendor documents and submittals for compliance with IPC, UPC, and applicable local plumbing codes.
- Manage procurement schedules and coordinate delivery timelines with project managers and foremen.
- Communicate in both English and Spanish to ensure clear coordination with suppliers and field teams.
- Track shipments, resolve expediting issues, and document delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, backorder lists, and usage reports.
- Provide bilingual support during site meetings, inspections, and logistics planning.
- Proactively identify potential material shortages and propose compliant alternatives.
- Verify proper storage and handling of plumbing materials in warehouses and job sites.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in construction logistics, plumbing supply management, or related field. Higher education in construction management or related credentials is preferred.
- Multifamily construction experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven knowledge of IPC and UPC code requirements.
- Bilingual in English and español (Spanish).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plumbing submittals.
- Strong vendor management, scheduling, and expediting skills.
- Construction logistics or supply chain certification is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality and compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills to meet strict timelines.
- Travel as required.
