Electrical Utility Logistics Manager
Position Description
Hillpointe is seeking an experienced Electrical Utilities Logistics Manager to oversee the coordination, scheduling, and delivery of electrical utility materials, equipment, and resources for utility construction and maintenance projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage geographically dispersed construction teams. It requires a strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and field staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical utility plans and specifications to understand the project dependencies and requirements.
- Manage utility relationships to ensure proper execution of the project, including, but not limited to, design consultation, document control, scheduling, submittals, permitting, inspections, and service connections.
- Lead meetings with individual utility companies and on-site field personnel to coordinate proposed utility locations, including participation in pre-construction kickoff meetings with AHJ as directed.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to ensure timely delivery of equipment to job sites.
- Ensure compliance with NEC building codes, OSHA standards, and utility company specifications in material selection and installation readiness.
- Lead with pre-inspection walkthroughs and site inspections.
- Ensure required inspections are scheduled, tracked, and archived.
- Execute approved utility plans and meet targeted milestones and “Go Live” launch dates.
- Lead compliance reviews, audits, and testing; manage the development of periodic compliance reports for Executive Management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing permits, keep abreast of permit regulation changes, and advise management of potential impacts.
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with municipalities, utility service providers, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years of experience in construction and utility services, including overhead and underground power distribution systems. Higher education in construction management or related credentials is preferred.
- Experience working on cross-functional project teams.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
- Experience prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Superb written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in both team and self-managed environments.
- Flexibility to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities daily.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to time-sensitive information and strict deadlines.
- Travel as required.
