The work:
Cloud Windows Engineer will be responsible for managing, configuring, and securing Windows Server environments in cloud platforms, such as AWS, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The engineer will ensure systems meet operational, security, and compliance standards while collaborating with IT and security teams to maintain a resilient and scalable infrastructure. Cloud Windows Engineer will be responsible for:
System Security & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security baselines, patch management, anti-virus, and endpoint protection.
- Support hardening and configuration of Windows systems in accordance with DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53, and FISMA requirements.
- Maintain logs and support integration with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Wiz, Elastic).
- Participate in audits and ensure systems are compliant with ATO, FedRAMP, and government accreditation processes.
Operations & Troubleshooting:
- Perform system upgrades, performance tuning, and root cause analysis for OS and infrastructure issues.
- Monitor system health and respond to alerts, incidents, and service requests.
- Provide support for disaster recovery planning and failover testing.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work with federal IT, DevOps, security, and network teams to support operational and mission goals.
- Create and maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, system configurations, and SOPs.
Here's what you need:
- Demonstrated experience with design, implementation, and managing windows-based infrastructure in cloud platforms (AWS or OCI).
- Must have expertise with administering Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy in hybrid and cloud-native environments.
- Knowledge of cloud support services such as Azure AD, EC2, Amazon FSx for Windows, OCI Compute, and virtual network services.
- Experience with automate provisioning and configuration using tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates preferred.
- Must be willing to work onsite/hybrid environment in Gaithersburg, MD.
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
