Position Title: Job Developer (FT) Department: New Jersey Program & Services

Reports To (Title): Coordinator of Transition Services

Position Type: Entry-Level (3 yrs experience or less)

Supervising Staff: NO


General Purpose: 

To support the Youth Paid Internship and Transition Services Program. This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining partnerships with employer sites across designated northern New Jersey counties. In addition, the Job Developer will assist with the youth intake process, ensuring that each participant is appropriately placed and supported throughout their internship experience. Accurate documentation and compliance with program requirements are critical components of this role. Ensure employer satisfaction with program/placement services and candidates. Plan and implement job fairs. Liaison with local business community. Become familiar with labor laws, demand, occupations, and ADA requirements.

Essential Functions: 

  • Site Development & Employer Outreach

    • Identify and secure new internship and employment sites across the assigned NJ counties.

    • Build and maintain relationships with business partners, community organizations, and vocational service providers.

    • Conduct site visits to evaluate suitability and ensure program compliance.

  • Youth Intake & Onboarding

    • Assist with the intake process for youth enrolled in Transition Services.

    • Conduct eligibility screenings, collect documentation, and support completion of onboarding paperwork.

    • Coordinate internship placements based on student interests, skills, and availability.

  • Case Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate records for each participant and employer site.

    • Track progress, attendance, and worksite evaluations.

    • Prepare reports as required by program funders, including DVRS and internal stakeholders.

  • Program Coordination & Support

    • Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth communication between youth, families, and employers.

    • Provide ongoing support to both participants and worksite supervisors as needed.

    • Attend community events, job fairs, and school meetings to promote the program.


Qualifications

· BA preferred but will accept 2 years relevant work experience. 

· Must maintain a valid driver’s license and ongoing access to transportation to travel to employers in counties throughout Northern New Jersey.


Skills Required: 

· Intermediate Word, Excel and Outlook preferred 

· Excellent communication and written skills 

· Must be able to prioritize and multitask 

· Navigate and negotiate through difficult situations 

· Ability to communicate with all levels of employees


Scope of Responsibility & Positions Supervised: 

· This position does not supervise others. The Job Developer must work effectively as a partner with businesses and staff.


Special Working Conditions: Describe unusual working conditions or environmental factors.

· Job developer is expected to work in the community in addition to the main office. Conditions at employer locations may vary.
