The Cloud DevOps Engineer supports the entire Innovation Lab’s products by owning the Innovation Lab’s cloud infrastructure. This position develops and maintains cloud solutions that support the firm's automation and data processing needs. This role involves identifying, setting, scoping, and implementing project-level goals in coordination with larger IT organization.
The Cloud DevOps Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining CI/CD workflows, as well as troubleshooting, scaling, and securing cloud infrastructure. The Engineer will also contribute to a culture of collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with Software Engineers, Security, and others to deliver top quality software tools that deliver material value to end users, and will be at home in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall design and operations of the Innovation Lab's cloud computing resources, specifically our Kubernetes cluster, CI/CD pipelines, Azure and AWS environments.
- Supports the entire Firm’s technology products through maintaining the cloud infrastructure hosted in Azure.
- Enhance the Firm's cloud infrastructure in response to changing business needs.
- Ensure application and system outages are minimal; preventing disruptions in service by quickly addressing any outages. Proactively prevent potential infrastructure issues before they become major problems.
- Ensure complex technical issues across the entire infrastructure and software stack are identified and addressed.
- Write and administer system architecture to include documentation for implementation.
- Meet and collaborate with members of our Systems and Security team to ensure infrastructure is to policy standards; ensuring compliance with data governance, security, access policies, etc.
- Identify cloud infrastructure upgrades and ensure security compliance and desired feature offerings.
- Maintain our infrastructure as code base utilizing tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize.
- Drive the design, development, and improvement of automation solutions, including CI/CD pipelines, to improve the team’s software delivery cadence.
- Proactively develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to ensure the cloud infrastructure meets Firm needs.
- Own the design, planning, and execution of the strategic vision for the Firm’s technology infrastructure.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):
- Bachelors degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or computer engineering preferred, or other bachelor’s degree with relevant information technology experience
- 3-5 years of experience in cloud administration and development, particularly in the Microsoft Azure environment.
- 3-5 years of experience building and executing DevOps or DevSecOps solutions using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) utilizing tools such as Github Actions and ArgoCD.
- Experience with deploying production-grade applications in cloud environments using automation applications such as Terraform.
- Experience with container-based deployment and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with health and status monitoring technologies such as Prometheus.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code solutions, preferably Terraform.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Development experience in Python, Haskell, or JavaScript is a plus.
- Familiarity with AWS is a plus

Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. The Colorado salary range is $94,384.38 to $157,307.30 annually. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
