What You'll Do: Inspire and Empower
As a DSP, you won't just be assisting—you'll be empowering! You'll provide essential daily living support while actively encouraging people to make their own decisions and be vibrant participants in their homes and communities. Every day is a new chance to uplift someone's life, helping them reach their personal goals!
Your Impact Includes:
- Community Connector: Help individuals build relationships, engage with friends and family, and participate in fun community leisure activities (like shopping or events!). You’ll even provide transportation and make the outings happen.
- Life Skills Coach: Provide hands-on assistance with essential daily living activities, including personal hygiene (like bathing and dressing), meal preparation, home maintenance, and laundry skills.
- Health Advocate: Accompany and transport individuals to medical appointments, administer medications and treatments following strict guidelines, and ensure their medical needs are fully met.
- Goal Achiever: Work with individuals to implement the goals listed in their Individual Plans, offering consistent support and encouraging socially-appropriate behavior and personal growth.
- Home Hero: Ensure a safe, sanitary, and supportive environment in the home, maintaining organizational procedures and completing essential documentation.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For: Your Professional Qualities
We're looking for enthusiastic and dedicated professionals who are ready to jump in and make a positive impact!
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be able to provide physical assistance to individuals, including lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing wheelchairs, bending, twisting, and assisting with transfers and personal care (training provided!).
- Acts as a positive role model who interacts with integrity and respect at all times.
- Must have basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, internet).
- Must successfully pass criminal background and motor vehicle record checks.
