The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a certified Pharmacy Technician II to embark on a rewarding healthcare career! Reporting directly to our dedicated Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, providing essential services in the preparation of consumer prescriptions. This vital role adheres strictly to the rules and regulations set forth by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, ensuring the highest standard of service for our valued patients. Your Role in Action:

·    Assists patients with prescribing to Patient Assistance Programs to acquire “free medication” where applicable and appropriate for the patient.

·    Prepares prescriptions

·    Pre-packs supplies, generates reports and maintains appropriate inventory levels

·    Conducts monthly unit inspections where medications are dispensed, stored, and administered.

·    Identifies and retrieves outdated supplies.

·    Orders pharmaceuticals and supplies in a manner that optimizes cost and contract compliance

·    Compliant with agency educational and licensure requirements

·    Performs other related duties as assigned.

What qualifications will you need:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED). 

 

Experience:

Pharmacy Technician II

·         3 years of related experience in working in a pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician required.

·         3 years of retail pharmacy experience preferred.

 

Other Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician License through the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Candidate must have well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills, be a team player with a desire to provide quality work. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be computer literate and able to use software effectively. Should also demonstrate a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

·    Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively converse and listen to others and construct clear and concise written communication.

·    Ability to identify and offer solutions to resolve problems using knowledge of the organization to identify helpful resources.

·    Effective time management and organizational skills.

·    Able to utilize basic word and Excel documents

·    Act consistent with all legal requirements relating to pharmacy technician practice, including Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.

·    Refrain from any behavior that violates legal or professional ethical standards, including all criminal laws, Federal laws and agency regulations, and State laws and regulatory agency rules.

·    Refrain from conduct that is threatening, intimidating, harassing, or deceptive when acting within a professional role.

·    Maintain good standing with all applicable governmental or quasi-governmental agencies governing pharmacy technician practice.
