ROLE COMMITMENTS
⦁ Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to integrate wiring solutions into electromechanical fitness equipment systems, interfacing with Android tablets and multiple electronic peripherals.
⦁ Create and maintain detailed wiring diagrams and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks Electrical CAD (or equivalent software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Creo).
⦁ Prototype and assemble wire harnesses and assemblies, ensuring proper shielding, grounding, and system integration.
⦁ Execute prototype builds to validate design functionality, troubleshoot electrical issues, and refine solutions based on testing feedback.
⦁ Lead accurate and complete Bill of Materials (BOM) creation for wiring components, maintaining supply chain documentation and accuracy.
⦁ Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards (UL, IEC) and product specifications through quality checks and process validation.
⦁ Provide technical support during manufacturing setup, including training teams on wiring procedures and troubleshooting issues.
⦁ Champion continuous improvement initiatives by documenting processes, lessons learned, and design enhancements for future product iterations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
⦁ Design, prototype, and validate wiring assemblies for electromechanical integration, with a focus on systems connecting Android tablets and electronic peripherals.
⦁ Develop and release wiring documentation, including CAD drawings, BOMs, ECOs, and assembly instructions, to support NPD/NPI processes.
⦁ Collaborate with contract manufacturers and Advanced Manufacturing Engineers (AME) to refine wiring processes, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to production.
⦁ Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting using multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, soldering equipment, and related tools.
⦁ Support reflashing and programming of MCUs and other electronic components during prototype and production builds.
⦁ Conduct quality and safety checks on wiring installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
⦁ Stay current on advancements in wiring design, electromechanical integration, and CAD tools, applying best practices to improve product quality and reliability.
⦁ Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing) to ensure wiring solutions meet functional, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
⦁ Provide clear reports and communication to leadership on wiring validation, risks, and corrective actions.
⦁ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on assembly in lab or manufacturing environments.
⦁ Occasional overseas travel may be required to collaborate with Asia-based suppliers and manufacturing partners.
