Position Summary:
This position reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition. The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle recruiter activities and performance including the process of attracting, sourcing, recruiting, and hiring employees for the region to meet the organization’s staffing needs and achieve its business goals. The Talent Acquisition Manager will be required to supervise, train, and work in collaboration with the assigned recruiters in their region. This position requires superb communication, customer service, relationship-building, time management, and problem-solving skills, along with the drive to deliver best-in-class recruitment experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the oversight of the Director of Talent Acquisition, leads full-cycle recruitment activities and performance for assigned region.
- Responsible for supervision, coaching, mentorship, onboarding, training/development, and performance evaluation of recruiters and TA team direct reports.
- Responsible for understanding, interpreting, and complying with state and federal laws and MEI policy guidelines as they relate to recruitment, selection, and employment practices.
- Actively develops and manages candidate experiences by designing communication and interpersonal relations that are professional, positive, and create ease of connection.
- Provides coordination and support as needed for company-sponsored recruitment events.
- Assists with employee relations at employee, supervisor, and management levels with an eye on retention.
- Works in collaboration with hiring managers and MEI Executives on job requisitioning process to include assisting with job description and pay range reviews followed by identifying and implementing appropriate talent strategies as it relates to sourcing and recruitment.
- Work in concert with the Director of Talent Acquisition to conduct/evaluate talent market research and use to recommend, develop, and implement best recruitment practices, including employer branding, while managing against department budget.
- Serves as subject-matter expert in sourcing candidates including posting open positions and networking relationships.
- Effectively screen candidates by qualifying them for the open position.
- Coordinates and establishes interviewing schedules with hiring managers as requested.
- Facilitates employment offer process and terms of offer negotiations within company parameters by working with the Director of Talent Acquisition, hiring managers and executives for final approval.
- Provides expertise to recruiters and hiring managers to generate and administer employment offer packages and to ensure administration of pre-employment and post offer process to include background checks, condition of employment sign offs, etc.
- Will work to ensure accurate and timely notifications of candidate ready-to-hire status to include appropriate welcome, offer packages, and scheduling details coordination to appropriate HR, Onboarding, and Operations teams.
- Actively cultivates and maintains strong relationships with sourcing recruiter and partners (Examples include schools, professional organizations, military programs, etc.) to develop strong candidate pool.
- In collaboration with the Director of Talent Acquisition, coordinates regional activity with employment agencies, search firms and headhunter relationships under the contract guidelines.
- Per established policy, administers employee referral program to include tracking/auditing program.
- Prepares various management reports or analytics as needed.
- Perform regular and predictable work remotely during scheduled and/or agreed upon times.
- Complete other responsibilities and tasks as needed within the Human Resources team.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field, HR or Recruitment Certifications (AIRS, PHR or SPHR) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience as full cycle recruiter with a focus on employer branding, and sourcing active and passive candidates.
- Must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of HR laws, policies, and practices. DOT regulation knowledge is a plus.
- Preference given to recruitment experience within the construction, logistics or industrial services industries or related industry.
- Works on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Must demonstrate conduct that reflects MEI’s Mission and Values as well as appropriate levels of discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal communication (written, verbal and presentation), facilitation, project management and integration skills.
- Excellent candidate sourcing skills and establishing sourcing resources for passive and active career seekers.
- Demonstrated abilities working as a remote professional, in a multi-site, multi-state organization.
- Demonstrated abilities to comfortably and effectively support other areas of Human Resources as needed.
- Possess positive and professional demeanor in support of candidates, company human resources and MEI culture.
- Ability to serve as expert for recruitment related technology and systems including Microsoft Office Applications recruitment Social Media Apps, and sourcing platforms, and HRMS Applicant Tracking software.
- Solid understanding of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, and accurate grammatical structure. Must be able to keep records legibly, in English.
- Ability to travel as needed to facility sites.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
This position is a full-time remote or hybrid position and most work will be performed in a home office setting. The Talent Acquisition Manager will frequently use a computer, keyboard / mouse, cellular or office telephone, and regular business office equipment. Work will involve extended work at a computer terminal and working in a seated position. Occasional standing or walking and lifting / moving items weighing up to 10 pounds. Limited, regional travel or occasional overnight travel may be required.
