Description
As a Dental Equipment Technician, you will ensure the proper functioning, safety, and longevity of all dental equipment across HealthLinc clinics. This includes performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs, maintaining accurate service records, and coordinating with external dental equipment vendors and service technicians for more complex repairs. By keeping equipment reliable and safe, you will directly support high-quality patient care and a positive experience for patients and staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs preventative maintenance and basic repairs on dental equipment, including chairs, delivery units, lights, compressors, vacuum systems, sterilizers, and small dental devices.
- Serves as the primary liaison with external dental equipment vendors and service technicians, ensuring timely response and completion of repairs.
- Maintains accurate logs of maintenance and repair work in HealthLinc’s work order system.
- Assists with equipment installations, setup, and calibration for new operatories or replacement units.
- Provides staff with guidance on safe and proper use of dental equipment and reports repeated misuse to management.
- Evaluates equipment condition and makes recommendations for repair, replacement, or upgrades.
- Works with supply and operations teams to ensure availability of parts, tools, and vendor services at competitive pricing.
- Supports dental operations during emergencies by responding to urgent equipment failures to minimize downtime.
- Ensures compliance with HealthLinc policies, manufacturer specifications, and infection control standards.
- Reports compliance issues in a timely manner with appropriate resolution and follow-up.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICIATIONS:
Education/Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification or technical training in dental equipment maintenance, biomedical equipment repair, electronics, or related field preferred
- Manufacturer-specific training (DCI, Midmark, A-Dec ect.) highly preferred
Skills/Job Requirement
- Ability to diagnose and repair dental equipment and small machinery
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Effective communication and vendor management skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. and move equipment safely
- Flexibility to travel to multiple sites and occasionally work evenings/weekends for urgent repairs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Technology Skills
- Operate a multi-line phone system and other office equipment including printers, fax machines, etc.
- Basic software skills (Microsoft Office, online sources, etc.)
