Position Title: Networking Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting scalable, secure, and standardized networking solutions across enterprise environments. This role combines technical leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on engineering to drive innovation in areas such as SD-WAN, cloud networking, and automation, while also mentoring junior staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent service delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Technology Leadership: Stay current with emerging technologies including SD-WAN, network security, cloud networking (Azure/AWS), routing/switching, wireless, and automation.
- Strategic Recommendations: Evaluate trends and recommend strategic direction for networking services to ensure scalability, security, and partner alignment.
- Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical expertise, lead solution presentations, and assist in scoping engagements.
- Solution Development: Design and standardize modular, repeatable networking solutions including reference architectures and implementation frameworks.
- Operationalization: Work with engineering and service delivery teams to develop workflows, playbooks, and automation strategies for efficient deployment and support.
- Standardization and Templatization: Define and document networking activities and templates to ensure consistency across the organization.
- Team Development: Train and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and leadership readiness

Technical & Project Delivery Skills
- Advanced knowledge of designing, implementing and supporting enterprise networking technologies including:
- Routing and switching (Cisco, Aruba)
- SD-WAN and VPN architectures
- Network security (firewalls, ACLs, IDS/IPS)
- Wireless networking and cloud integration (Azure/AWS)
- Network automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python)
- Experience with tools like ConnectWise, Visio, and network monitoring platforms
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 7 years in network engineering or architecture roles
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade networking solutions
- Experience in a managed services or consulting environment preferred
- Demonstrated success in leading technical teams and mentoring junior staff
- Ongoing commitment to professional development through certifications, training, and hands-on learning
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- Preferred certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Expert (CCIE), Architect (CCaR)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required; must maintain an acceptable driving record.
