Title: AVP-Data Scientist

Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007 

Duties: Develop machine learning solutions for high-profile data science initiatives. Design and train predictive analytics models and create high-value-added data solutions by converting quantitative predictions into actionable insights. Select and train machine learning models for predictive analytics, with relatively small and unbalanced datasets. Build solutions predicting activities and extracting signals from multiple data sources. Design explainability tools understandable by non-data scientists. Collaborate with technology teams to create data ingestion pipelines connected to sources across the organization and deliver in varying formats. Support teams in developing MLOps solutions and input models in production. Support teams in the management of cloud resources. Communicate results to business stakeholders and decision-makers. Work closely with technology teams, rating and research teams, and other departments. Collaborate with subject matter experts from ratings and research teams to incorporate fundamental expertise into machine learning models. Mentor team members without data science backgrounds, as required, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and learning. Participate and present at internal and external events.

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field plus two (2) years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a  related position developing machine learning models for business credit risk. Must have full term of experience with following: predicting bond issuances; implementing explainability tools, such as SHAP and Lime; implementing MLOps framework; deploying machine learning applications; detecting performance deterioration after deployment; and using Python, SQL, and AWS Cloud Services.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $139,506 to $230,850/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
