We are seeking a Quality Supervisor to join our team! This position will be responsible for ensuring all required inspections, audits, and tests are performed daily per the QA Manager’s directives. This is a working position and not merely supervisory.
This is a full-time position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure training is complete for new employees/inspectors:
- boiler inspections- to include use of BOMs, Engineering drawings, etc.
- machine shop inspections
- carton packing inspections
- fire testing & production boiler testing
- writing NCRs and similar QA tasks
- Direct QA inspectors to ensure all required QA tasks are completed daily:
- Boiler inspections
- Fire testing Alpine gas assemblies & controls
- Production boiler testing
- Programming controls, as needed
- Machine shop inspections
- Assist in Receiving/Incoming inspections as needed
- report issues to Supplier Quality Inspector as needed
- Writing up & processing scrap- internal, Supplier, and castings
- Coordinate process audits per written work instructions as directed by QA Manager
- Be responsible for ensuring minimum goals for boiler inspections are met across all pack lines.
- Be responsible for increasing boiler inspections based on criteria that makes certain boilers more likely to have nonconformances. For example, new assemblers on the line, a new boiler being built or one that hasn’t been built in a while, or a boiler known for past quality issues.
- Work with Production supervisors to ensure any boilers returned for rework have been done correctly and have gone through QA inspection.
- Ensure K2 boiler audits, or any other audits, are completed per QA Manager’s directive.
- Responsible for ensuring there is sufficient QA support on Saturdays when Production is working.
- Report to QA Manager regularly on team performance & personnel issues.
- Provide input for QA inspectors’ annual performance review. Likely provide direct input that will be included in review.
- Cover 8:10 meeting as needed per QA Manager request
- Ensure adequate QA coverage on Saturdays when Production is running
- Other duties as directed by QA Manager

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and 2+ years of quality inspection experience preferred.
- Advanced documented education in Welding, Weld Inspection (Certified Welding Inspections), Machining, HVAC, and/or Electrical Wiring preferred.
- Knowledge of ASME Code, dimensional measurement, electrical testing, nondestructive evaluation, machining processes, casting processes, and reading and interpretation of mechanical and electrical prints preferred.
- ASME experience and/or boiler experience a plus.
Mathematical skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to learn other mathematical functions, as needed, to perform other duties.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software; manufacturing software and word processing software. Basic Microsoft Word & Excel knowledge.
