Primary Purpose
The Equipment Preservation & Maintenance Specialist is responsible for monitoring contractor preservation, maintenance, and overall management of equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This role involves reviewing the implementation of preservation plans and procedures, routine maintenance plans and procedures, vendor maintenance requirements, troubleshooting issues, Build It Clean (BIC) /Build It Tight (BIT) procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Preservation & Maintenance Oversight
- Verify best practice methods used for written detailed preservation plans on various types of equipment.
- Monitor implementation of preservation strategies, plans & activities ensuring compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) guidelines, timelines and industry best practices.
- Perform regular audits of all of the various types of equipment at site and off-site to ensure preservation and mechanical preventive maintenance completeness. Conduct regular inspections to verify that equipment is stored correctly and remains in optimal condition.
Quality Control
- Review and validate documentation such as procedures, inspection test plans (ITPs), checklists, and logs for accuracy and relevance.

- Conduct regular inspections to verify that equipment is stored correctly and remains in optimal condition
Preservation & Maintenance Execution:
- Verify regular inspections and maintenance tasks are performed to prevent equipment degradation.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Monitor and record environmental conditions affecting equipment storage (humidity, temperature, corrosion risk).
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Collect data on preservation performance metrics and prepare reports highlighting trends, issues, and corrective actions
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Work with contractor to Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot issues.
- Recommend contractor to Implement solutions to prevent future equipment problems.
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with Contractor to ensure effective best practice preservation and maintenance activities are being followed.
- Communicate with owner project managers to provide updates on equipment status and preservation activities.
- Provide updates to project leadership and stakeholders, raising concerns and suggesting resolutions during meetings.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all preservation and maintenance activities comply with contractor and owner safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and suggest corrective actions as needed.
- Issue non-conformance and corrective action reports when preservation standards are not met.
Training and Support:
- Provide training to team members on preservation and maintenance procedures.
- Offer technical support and guidance to contractor regarding equipment preservation and maintenance.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to align preservation strategies with project goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
