The Production Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the manufacturing floor to ensure production targets are consistently met or exceeded.

This role drives continuous improvement initiatives, ensures compliance with quality and safety standards, and fosters team development through training and mentorship.

The position requires a proactive, hands-on leader with strong collaboration skills and a visible presence across departments.

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead people and operations on the manufacturing floor.
  • Contribute to production plan adherence to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Review production schedules and estimate labor hours required for job and project completion.
  • Develop and adjust work schedules to meet changing production demands.
  • Manage job descriptions and training plans for all direct reports.
  • Conduct Performance Development Plans (PDPs) and performance reviews for team members.
  • Support shift coordinators and direct reports in analyzing and resolving operational challenges.
  • Gather and analyze data; recommend and implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Apply Lean principles to drive process improvements.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, warehouse, and materials teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to support production requirements for various projects.
  • Partner with Engineering and Support teams to troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues.
  • Work closely with Finance to identify and implement adjustments related to work orders, inventory, and improvement opportunities.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
  • Request necessary system access and assign specific roles in Coloplast systems for team members.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by the direct leader.
  • Perform all duties in full compliance with company guidelines.
  • Notify management of any difficulties in understanding or applying guidelines.
  • Report inefficiencies or system issues to leadership.
  • Take ownership of safety responsibilities relevant to the position.

 

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • English level B1/B2 (based on the Common European Framework of Reference).
  • Three or more years of hands-on leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working with inventory management systems.
  • Experience improving manufacturing operations using Lean and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Experience with MES or other system to track and analyze production operations.

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Work experience in the Medical Device Industry or a similar regulated environment.
  • Experience working with inventory management systems.
  • Certification on Lean or Six Sigma is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Must be flexible with work schedule.
  • Proficient in capacity analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to develop staff.
  • Change facilitation/Lean transformations.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP Systems)
  • Knowledge of PowerBI or similar.
