Description
Purolator is seeking a highly motivated Bilingual EDI Implementation Specialist to join our IT team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about system integration, troubleshooting, and supporting logistics technology in a dynamic environment. You will support Tier 1 to Tier 3 integration tasks and set up with new customers, ensuring seamless data flows and maintaining system health across our logistics platforms.
Please note that this position requires bilingual support in both English and French.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation and support of current and new customers integrating complex systems across logistics platforms. Your responsibilities span technical troubleshooting, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves supporting multiple applications and collaborating with an established IT operations support team.
Technical Expertise
- Integrate hardware, software, and third-party applications across platforms.
- Troubleshoot networking issues using protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, and troubleshoot web API services (REST, SOAP).
- Support hybrid cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Maintain, setup and troubleshoot API integrations and EDI transmissions
- Interpret logs from applications, sensors, and API requests/responses.
- Use tools like Postman to test endpoints and analyze JSON/XML payloads.
- Investigate integration failures (auth, headers, payload, schema) and third-party system compatibility.
- Read and interpret EDI documents (e.g., 204, 210, 214) and understand acknowledgements (997s).
- Run complex SQL queries (JOINs, subqueries) and validate data integrity.
Problem-Solving Abilities
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex integration and support issues.
- Diagnose system conflicts, data mapping errors, and performance bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot Android/iOS app behavior, Bluetooth sensor sync, and GPS errors.
- Validate temperature sensor readings and understand calibration and firmware issues.
- Support routing and dispatch logic, including driver and route data troubleshooting.
- Understand invoice generation, formatting, and discrepancy resolution.
Communication Skills
- Document technical issues and solutions clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate effectively with developers, analysts, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Provide bilingual support in English and French (oral and written).
Customer-Oriented Mindset
- Prioritize user satisfaction, system uptime, and timely issue resolution.
- Deliver training and guidance to internal teams and end users during rollouts and updates.
- Maintain documentation, update knowledge bases, and create support runbooks.
- Participate in onboarding, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, Ops, and business teams to resolve cross-system issues.
Security Awareness
- Ensure data integrity and enforce access control best practices.
- Maintain compliance with regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
Education and Experience
- Bilingual: Fluent in French and English (written/spoken).
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in integration or application support roles with API and EDI experience is required.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Jira Service Desk).
