POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Default Cashiering Analyst processes mortgage payments in repayment plans, loan modifications, bankruptcy, loss mitigation and other workout plans. The default cashiering team processes default mortgage payments, reinstatements, liquidations, and default suspense management in accordance with regulatory requirements. They ensure the accurate and timely processing of default mortgage payments and liquidations. This person is an industry expert who must have significant experience, knowledge, and understanding of default and bankruptcy cash processing. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborating with other departments to deliver exceptional service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, includes not limited to:
- Works in all aspects of default payment processing tasks including receipt, application, and reconciliation of mortgage payments including loss mitigation, repayment plans, bankruptcy, loan modifications, assistance payments, workout plans, and reinstatements.
- Ensures timely and accurate posting of funds to consumer accounts via multiple payment mediums.
- Resolves research requests, completes return item reversals, and rejects incoming funds, as applicable.
- Processes all default unapplied funds and payments for liquidations.
- Processes all payments received from bankruptcy trustees in accordance with the bankruptcy plan.
- Ensures proper handling of post-petition and pre-petition funds.
- Responsible for processing consumer requests and communication.
- Reviews daily reporting to balance and reconcile batches.
- Ensures compliance with State, Federal, Regulatory, and Investor Requirements and guidelines, and maintains up-to-date knowledge of internal policies and procedures.
- Meets established standards and guidelines with regard to compliance, job knowledge, quality, attendance, efficiency, initiative, and overall performance.
- Other projects and assignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience in cash management processes including default and bankruptcy.
- Knowledge of default and bankruptcy cashiering processes, industry standards, consumer protection laws & regulations impacting default cash management.
- Ability to have a cross-functional impact across the servicing operation.
- Highly organized, reliable, and results-driven
- Ability to hustle, willingness to learn, and adapt quickly to working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and call center equipment/software programs
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.
COMPENSATION: CMG pays a competitive hourly/salary range which ranges from $28.85/hr - $33.65/hr with no overtime ($60,000 to $70,000). Factors that affect hourly rate may include: experience and education.
