- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level LAN/WAN, cloud, and hybrid network environments.
- Support and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related network hardware/software.
- Troubleshoot network outages, performance issues, and configuration problems across physical and virtual networks.
- Monitor network health and usage, analyze network traffic, and optimize performance and availability.
- Lead network architecture planning and modernization efforts aligned with agency goals and security requirements.
- Ensure adherence to federal cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP) and contribute to ATO documentation.
- Collaborate with system administrators, DevSecOps teams, and security engineers to support infrastructure-as-code and zero-trust architectures.
- Provide Tier III escalation support and serve as a subject matter expert for network-related initiatives.
- Maintain detailed network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
What We Need From You (Required):
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise network implementation and maintenance.
- 5+ years supporting government IT networks, preferably in civilian or DoD environments.
- Expertise in TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, QoS, and wireless networks.
- Experience designing and implementing secure network architectures and segmentation strategies.
- Strong hands-on experience with networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto) and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS VPCs, Azure VNets, Direct Connect, etc.) and hybrid network designs.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to lead incident response for network issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including producing technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field.
- U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS). Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Bonus Points (Desired):
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), or equivalent.
- Experience working in FedRAMP, FISMA, or DHS CDM environments.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN and Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies.
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for network provisioning.
- Hands-on experience supporting agency-wide network modernization or cloud migration initiatives.
- Experience within the DHS and TSA environments
Work Setup & Travel:
- Hybrid - Based in Springfield, VA. Occasional travel may be required.
- Must be able to obtain Public Trust
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT Management, or related field
