- Welcome and assist students, parents, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls; take and relay messages, including parent notifications of student absences and tardiness.
- Record and update student attendance in the student information system on a daily basis.
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure attendance is recorded accurately; Run daily Blank Attendance reports, send email reminders to staff as needed, and clear any unresolved entries weekly.
- Provide information to students, families, and staff regarding attendance policies and procedures.
- Monitor the Safe Arrival Report each day, reviewing uploaded parent documentation related to student absences.
- Compile, prepare, and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and annual attendance reports as required.
- Create attendance-related letters to parents/guardians as well as maintain tracking and date information regarding Precourt letters.
- Collaborate with probation officers and the school’s police liaison officer as needed.
- Complete and submit requests to the central office for mass attendance updates prior to school field trips.
- Admit late students and maintain accurate records of tardiness.
- Oversee the Raptor system for visitor and student sign-in; monitor functionality and report technical issues to IT.
- Maintain medical notes submitted to the school nurse regarding student appointments.
- Oversee student check-out/sign-out procedures and document absences due to appointments.
- Prepare, distribute, and file attendance-related records, reports, and correspondence.
- Provide backup clerical support for other office staff as needed.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Ability to operate personal computers and related software including AS400, Microsoft and Google systems.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Position Details: | This position works 196 days per year. It is scheduled 5 days per week at 8 hours per day. During the school year, the position follows the approved calendar for holidays and work days. The position comes with treasurer responsibilities with a $1,751 annual stipend. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Salary: |
Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role if an employee has worked at least 120 days in a school year. New employees will begin on year 1. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Attendance Secretary supports daily school operations by maintaining student attendance records, providing front office assistance, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role serves as a point of contact for students, families, staff, and external partners regarding attendance-related matters and provides clerical support to ensure smooth office operations.
