SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position main focus is to work in the inspection lab to do layouts for PPAP’s, review product off the machine for providing feedback for setups and tooling samples and to work with Engineering to provide detail of product for improvements for startups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Verify measurements are accurate and centered on the mean dimension.
- Inspect parts beyond first piece and last piece requirements, looking for other dimensions and defects not listed on the IPQR, total quality of the product.
- Ensure inspection instructions and IPQR’s are clear and correct to ensure nonconforming product will be detected.
- Responsible for generation of ISIR reports, CAP studies, reviewing material certifications.
- Support the production staff to attain highest level of quality & maintain TS16949 certification and support the audit system.
- Support the MRB area and the quarantining of suspect product.
- Visual sorts to look for cosmetic defects, mis-formed parts, burrs and general KMC product standards of workmanship.
- Handle and box product to maintain integrity of the part and accurate count of product.
- Make Plex transactions, such as, to update and split off inventory to identify the product sorted correctly.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- High school diploma or general education (GED) and at least one year related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical abilities - understanding how tooling can affect the outcome of product.
- Knowledge of inspection equipment, stamping presses and tools.
- Proficiency using calipers, micrometers and optical comparators.
- Blueprint reading and interpretation skill at a moderate level.
- Basic knowledge of Gage GD&T and the ability to read and understand engineering specifications.
- Good math skills and comfortable working in English and Metric.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word
- Understanding of ISO/TS procedures and practices & Quality Assurance concepts.
- Good organizational & communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
