Job Statement

Conducts a variety of assignments including regulatory compliance review, financial reporting, operational, information technology, governance, compliance audits and advisory services.  Prepares, presents and reviews reports, observations (orally and/or in writing), and recommendations for corrections and improvements to the responsible management.  Work is performed objectively, independently, and is subject to established compliance and auditing principles as well as best practices in the profession. 

Essential Duties

  1. Supports the development and implementation of compliance programs, polices, reporting, and practices for the organization.

 

  1. Monitors activities impacted by regulatory requirements related to the organization’s governance and any industry-specific or location-specific laws.

 

  1. Utilizes established internal controls and auditing systems to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance.

 

  1. Implement changes to compliance processes due to new and amended regulations.

 

  1. Stay informed about changes in industry standards, laws, and regulations that affect the company.

 

  1. Perform internal audits to identify gaps, risks, or potential violations of compliance standards.

 

  1. Identify areas of non-compliance and assess the potential risks to the organization, such as fines, lawsuits, or reputational damage.

Additional Duties

  1. Work with various departments to ensure company-wide adherence to compliance requirements.

 

  1. Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, procedures, and findings.

 

  1. Keeps the Compliance Manager appraised regarding the status of compliance and assigned audit projects.

 

  1. Seeks advice and guidance from the Compliance Manager as needed.

 

  1. Assists with specialized audits/projects per the instructions and guidance of the Compliance Manager.

 

  1. Performs other duties as requested.

Job Requirements

Education/Certifications/Training:  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, business administration, data analytics, management information systems, and/or other related major is required. 

Experience:  2 years of experience in compliance, performing internal audits, and conducting risk assessments is required. Prior compliance, auditing, and utility experience is preferred.

Additional Requirements

Equipment:  PC (MS Office Suite-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and general office equipment.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Primarily sedentary activity in office environment; requires repetitive motion.  Light lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Other:  Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software are preferred.  Familiarity with auditing software packages and information technology systems are preferred. Some travel may be required.
