A hospitality and food service professional comes to work on time in the proper uniform, both clean and pressed, with all necessary tools needed to perform their job. This includes their unique talents, a welcoming disposition, necessary menu and restaurant knowledge, and a commitment to teamwork.
Barbacks perform tasks to support the bartender and other staff members in set up, stocking and replenishment of bar supplies including, but not limited to: ice, glassware, hand towels, beverage product and food garnishes. Daily duties may also include putting away bar deliveries or changing kegs.
Barbacks are responsible for preparing, maintaining, breaking down, and cleaning their work area according to their designated side work. This work area includes the bar, cocktail areas, and any storage areas where bar materials can be found.
Requirements
- Demonstrate genuine hospitality and deliver exceptional guest service in the bar area
- Keep the bar stocked and clean while always providing friendly and attentive service
- Adhere to company standards for serving alcoholic beverages
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff
- Does high-quality work while unsupervised
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed
- Serve Safe and/or safety, food prep certifications a plus
- Able to move at least 40 pounds
- Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
- Great organizational skills
- A team player with good communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Punctual and reliable attendance
