To support the mental health needs of students and provide resources to students.
Position Summary
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide mental health counseling to BCC students using evidence-based modalities.
- Respond to on campus urgent and emergency mental health situations and provide assessment and crisis intervention as needed.
- Develop and deliver outreach programs and workshops to students, staff and faculty to enhance awareness and knowledge of mental health issues and resources.
- Facilitate psychoeducation and support groups on topics such as coping skills, mindfulness, self-care and grief.
- Establish on campus support groups.
- Participate in case consultations with Personal Counselors and Mental Health Support Specialists.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of counseling sessions and student progress.
- Collaborate with community mental health resources to promote student well being and refer students who require a higher level of care as needed.
- Complete all grant related documents in a timely manner.
- Perform additional job related tasks as directed by the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and the Grant Project lead.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field from an accredited program.
Experience: Minimum of two years of counseling experience; Minimum of two years of experience working with young adults in an educational or training capacity; Ability to communicate in more than one language.
Other: Current New Jersey independent clinical license as an LPC or LCSW.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in the use of technology to include Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience working with a college data platform. Possess a creative and innovative approach to problem solving. Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and work independently with limited supervision.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- Annual Salary is $65,000-$70,000
- NJ Educators Health Plan with free Vision and Dental. NJ State Pension plan.
- 15 vacation days, 15 sick days, 4 personal days, 2 floating holidays, all designated holidays and 5 non-designated holidays a year. 3 Partial Sick Days.
