Position: Sr. Field Applications Engineer
Duties: Support Anritsu’s customers in creating testcases on 5G and 4G scenarios. Supervise and own escalated Tier1 troubleshooting prior to engage and monitor software architecture. Develop performance metrics to establish and maintain credible technical relationships with Anritsu’s customer base and sales channels. Present training to internal technical Associate Sales Engineer support teams and sales staff on new applications that support Anritsu’s product promotions. Develop technical product support collateral such as walkthrough guides, application leaflets, quick start guides and tutorials. Perform product demonstrations of Anritsu’s test solutions to support new applications sales activities including customer onsite meetings, industry conferences, tradeshows and conventions. Provide 2nd level post-sales technical application support working on Liaison for Tier1 and collaborate with Tier2 if/when necessary, during troubleshooting escalation. Collaborate with Technical Field Marketing Engineers and Technical Field Sales Engineers to generate technical sales product collateral such as white papers, application notes, industry webinars, and presentations. Serve in Field Application Engineer mentorship role to provide technical application product training and support to Tier1 FAEs, Sales Reps, channel partners, industry conferences and tradeshows.
Education Required: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Experience Required: 2 years of experience as Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, or related occupation
Special Requirements: Must have at least 2 years of prior work experience in each of the following:
- Working in wireless industry with test and measurement instruments, and chipset manufacturers on protocol testing for 4G and 5G technologies.
- Developing test cases using RTD for feature bring-up and integration, with focus on 4G.
- Troubleshooting and debugging across PHY, MAC, RRC, and application layers.
- Performing log analysis and troubleshooting LTE and 5G network issues including protocol stack failures.
- Working closely with chipset and mobile vendors to resolve modem-related issues and enhance product performance.
- Using at least one of the following log analysis tools to identify and resolve issues related to user equipment performance: MMT, Wireshark, QXDM, or ELT.
- Working closely with Sales and Business Development teams during pre-sales activities, including customer demonstrations, requirement scoping, and providing technical support for potential clients.
- Providing post-sales technical support, including product troubleshooting, ongoing customer training, and ensuring product deployment and integration into customer environments.
Position permits telecommuting: applicant may reside anywhere in U.S. and reports to Morgan Hill, CA office.
Salary: $187,741 to $200,000 per year
