Job Title: Traffic Coordinator
Classification: Hourly / Non-Exempt
Reports To: Logistics Manager (or assigned designee)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00AM - 4:30PM
Travel Required: None


Summary of Responsibilities:

To process customer orders in a timely manner, utilizing customer-specific websites or email addresses and mandated parameters. Schedule customer pick-ups and alert customers when their assigned carriers do not meet their schedules.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain a clean, organized office environment.
  • Continuously read, assimilate, and apply customer compliance instructions and timetables to prevent non-compliance penalties and charges.
  • After initial routings have been entered, send sales orders and all related customer routing documents to the Sardis facility. Assist the Sardis team with any potential customer issues/compliances.
  • Create all customer documents based upon their requirements (Pick Tickets, Shipping Labels, Master BOL’s, Custom Documents, Quick Base entries, etc.).
  • Create daily shipping schedules and coordinate with Shipping/Warehouse Managers on the daily shipping schedule. Work closely with customer-specific trucking companies by assigning pickup appointments that comply with customer standards.
  • Communicate and interact with Shipping/Warehouse Managers, Customer Service, and Distribution Managers to ensure smooth flow of shipments, satisfying all Customer Compliance demands, and avoiding penalties or fines.
  • Immediately report any issues with product or equipment, unsafe conditions, or actions of other employees to the Logistics Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager (or designee).

 

Required Skills:

  • Required to work safely, following all company safety rules and procedures.
  • Good basic math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a good attendance record.
  • Working knowledge of computers and printers.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products and IQMS applications.

 

Competencies:

  • Commitment to workplace safety: follow policies and procedures, wear proper PPE in designated areas, complete assigned training.
  • Quality compliance: double-check paperwork, labels, and schedules for accuracy; identify and correct errors; follow through with missed customer pick-ups and report carrier issues through required channels.
  • Attendance: maintain reliable attendance in accordance with company policy, arrive 5 minutes before shift start, take breaks only at assigned times, work entire scheduled shifts, and communicate properly when requesting time off.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and temperature variations.
