Position Summary:

We are looking for a driven Mechanical Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership for a team in development, production, and sustaining efforts for customer programs supporting ground-based antenna, mobile antenna, and aerospace battery and charger product lines. A high level of technical content and participation in proposals, design, analysis, test, and sustainment of the products is expected with this position, along with the supervision of an experienced team of mechanical engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Determine staffing requirements and adjust staffing levels as necessary to ensure the department’s workforce is appropriately staffed with qualified individuals.
  • Lead teams in defining requirements, planning and executing project plans, participating in design reviews, and supporting production release for various programs.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and training for engineers and ensure compliance with department standards and policies.
  • Manage daily priorities for a team of engineers.
  • Perform annual department performance reviews.
  • Interface with business development and proposals, design and test departments, manufacturing, quality, production, and customer service to support all aspects of the product lines.
  • Identify material and capital acquisition requirements, and initiate procurement.
  • Identify and implement new systems and processes for continual improvement and better agility.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Support programs and technical leadership with requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization, preliminary and final design, mechanical analysis, design documentation, manufacturing, production, and testing. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience or Graduate Degree and minimum 7 years prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years prior related experience.
  • Experience effectively mentoring and managing team members.
  • Skilled at use of 3D design and CAD tools, PTC Creo and/or Solidworks preferred.
  • Experience using PLM software for controlling CAD data, Windchill preferred.
  • Strong ability to visualize and design in 3D and drafting proficiency with knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards and GD&T.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing a plus.
  • Structural Analysis and FEA experience highly desired, Ansys experience a plus.
  • Machining and fabrication experience a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a future Security Clearance could be required for the role. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is 119,500-222,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
