The Flagship Store Manager will oversee the operations of New Era’s NYC Flagship store, set to open in early 2026 in SoHo. This store will be a cultural hub where brand, community, and commerce come together. The Store Manager will play a crucial role in launching and establishing the flagship store.

Responsible for the store’s overall success, this role will drive revenue growth, manage the profit and loss (P&L) statements, build and motivate a diverse team, and create memorable customer experiences that define New Era in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.

This role requires an entrepreneurial spirit: the Store Manager will set the vision, maintain high standards, and execute tasks with agility. Responsibilities include ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining brand-right employee staffing levels, coordinating local events, scouting collaborations, hosting in-store events and more. This position will excel as both a strategist and an operator, creating a destination that sets the benchmark for New Era retail.

Responsibilities 

  • Sales & Brand Influence:
    • Own the flagship’s performance, driving multimillion-dollar revenue, margin and profitability goals
    • Oversee performance across multiple departments – including customization, core product, and energy/experiential zones – ensuring each contributes to overall profitability
    • Build market influence and presence by hosting partners, creators, athletes, and influencers, positioning the flagship as a cultural and brand beacon
    • Partner with leadership on curated assortments and flagship-exclusive storytelling moments that elevate sales and reinforce brand strategy
  • Customer & Brand Experience:
    • Lead visual merchandising and in-store storytelling, ensuring that product displays, large-scale screen content, and marketing activations align with brand strategy and available assortment
    • Execute daily and event-based experiences – from product launches to VIP visits – delivering both HQ-led campaigns and locally-driven collaborations
    • Create a dynamic, ever-evolving environment that reflects product drops, cultural moments, and campaigns, keeping the flagship fresh and relevant
    • Instill a culture of service and hospitality that embodies New Era’s values and builds customer loyalty and reinforces New Era’s relevance in the NYC market
  • Leadership & Talent Development
    • Build and inspire a multi-layered leadership and sales team, capable of delivering results while telling the brand’s story in every product sold 
    • Establish clear accountability and succession planning, strengthening the flagship as a pipeline for New Era retail talent
    • Foster a culture of growth and inclusion, balancing high-level leadership with a roll-up-your-sleeves entrepreneurial spirit
    • Own the store’s business operations – ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational standards are consistently met
    • Oversee vendor and partner coordination to guarantee smooth delivery of services and activations, while ensuring invoices, payroll, and expenses are accurate and timely
    • Champion operational innovation by piloting new systems, technologies, and service models that strengthen efficiency and can scale across the fleet


 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Proven ability to manage multi-million P&L with measurable results in revenue growth and profitability
  • Strong financial acumen with ability to oversee expenses, invoices, and vendor partnerships with accuracy
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in lean environments, executing initiatives end-to-end while balancing strategic oversight
  • Strong interpersonal presence to represent New Era with external partners, influencers, and community stakeholders
  • Adaptability to operate seamlessly between high-level strategy and tactical execution
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks, including climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for extended periods
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred; additional experience in lieu of degree considered 
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in a high-profile, high-volume retail environment, ideally with flagship or community-focused locations within NYC

Travel Requirement

  • Up to 15% domestic travel for brand activations, community events, and leadership meetings

The salary range for this posted position is $90,000 - $115,000 (plus benefits) and pertains to candidates located in New York City. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
