About the Department

Public Service Intern - Reno Police Department (Part-time Temporary) - THIS POSITION IS LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM 17.5 HOURS PER WEEK NOT TO EXCEED 233 HOURS PER QUARTER (temporary position without benefits).
Position Duties
- Assist with Public Counter requests
- Assists with processing of mail-in requests made by general public for criminal and histories
- Assists with processing of telephone, faxed, and mail-in requests for copies of criminal cases, and histories, incident and traffic accident reports and court dispositions
- Assists in filing of Reno Police Department documents (including original and microfilmed criminal cases/jackets and histories, court dispositions and follow-up case criminal case paperwork
- Assists with date entry of traffic paperwork
- Assists in entering field interview cards into Tiburon
- Assists in DA Charged and Closed List for copying of evidence
- Assist in processing GovQA (on-line public records requests)
- Assists in pulling microfiche/microfilm and make copy of public records request
- Assists in digitizing microfiche/microfilm and transfer record into OnBase.
- Assist in scanning monthly tow vehicle reports into OnBase
- Assists in quality control of scanned documents
- May perform other duties as assigned

This is a highly confidential position and a background investigation will be required.
The position allows for no more than 17.5 hours per week with no minimum hour guarantee and is exempt from the Civil Service System as a temporary assignment. The pay starts at $15.00 per hour. There are no benefits provided with this position.
