Brian Cox Mechanical is now looking for a proactive Human Resources Manager to add to the team. Reporting to the President, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for Human Resources functions (including recruitment, onboarding, retention, termination, culture, company event planning, and other activities) for a well-established mechanical services and construction company with 200-300 employees. Works collaboratively with department managers to optimize the employee experience with developing and implementing Human Resources policies and objectives.
Requirements
- Assists and assures the company is compliant with all applicable labor/employment laws and regulations.
- Works with department managers in recruiting efforts, onboarding procedures, and annual open enrollment.
- Maintains the company’s human resource management system (Paylocity, Sage 100, and Bswift).
- Works with department managers and accounting to:
- Processes employee status changes within the HRMS, including hiring, terminations, wage changes, vacation/PTO accrual rate changes, garnishments, 401k contributions/loans, benefits elections, changes to health enrollments, and vehicle allowances.
- Assist with exiting and termination of employees.
- Works with department managers, assists with employee complaints, opinions, and conflict resolution.
- Communicates changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
- Periodically reviews and makes recommendations to executive management team for process improvements relating to the Human Resources Management System.
- Participates on committees and special projects.
- Performs other reasonable tasks as requested by the company’s executive management team.
- Assists with monthly health insurance billing reconciliations.
- Assists management team and Safety Officer with monthly safety reports.
- Manages mandatory state and federal training for harassment prevention.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience. HR Manager experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
- English fluency required; Spanish fluency preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and sense of emotional intelligence; ability to resolve interpersonal workplace issues constructively.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, positive attitude
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficient and have experience with HRMS
