Donor Relations Officer
Employment Type: Full-time, Non-exempt
Salary Range: 85,000 - 95,000 / year

Claris Health is seeking a mission-driven Donor Relations Officer who can build deep, lasting relationships with donors and lead transformative fundraising strategies. Overview:
The Donor Relations Officer builds and strengthens relationships with individuals, families, andorganizations whose generosity fuels our mission. This role is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, ensuring they feel connected, informed, and inspired by the impact of their giving. By serving as a trusted partner and storyteller, the Donor Relations Officer helps donors align their passions with strategic funding opportunities, while advancing the organization’s long-term sustainability and vision.
Primary Responsibilities:
Donor Stewardship & Communication
● Develop and implement stewardship plans for donors to ensure ongoing engagement and retention.
● Work with the Development Manager to prepare personalized thank-you letters, donor acknowledgments, and impact reports in collaboration with the marketing team.
● Coordinate donor recognition activities, including special mailings, holiday greetings, milestone acknowledgments (e.g., birthdays, anniversaries), and handwritten notes.
● Make follow-up and thank-you calls to donors, ensuring timely and authentic gratitude.
● Help organize and host donor events, individual meetings, virtual updates, and in-person tours.
Relationship Management & Engagement
● Cultivate new and existing donor relationships by assisting with introductions, follow-up, and meeting coordination.
● Collaborate with leadership and the development team to identify opportunities for deeper donor involvement (e.g., events, volunteering, campaign giving).
● Develop and execute donor segmentation strategies for tailored communication based on giving history, interests, and engagement level.
Database & Reporting
● Work with the Development Manager to maintain accurate and updated donor records in the CRM, ensuring gift entry, activity tracking, and contact information are current.
● Generate reports and mailing lists for stewardship, segmentation, and targeted campaigns.
● Track donor engagement metrics to inform future strategies and measure success.
Events & Campaign Support
● Plan and execute donor-focused events (virtual and in-person), such as appreciation gatherings or campaign receptions.
● Support capital campaign efforts through relationship management, donor updates, and involvement in committee coordination when needed.
Qualifications:
● Passion for the mission, vision, and values of Claris Health.
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit development, communications, or related field.
● 2–4 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Proficiency with donor databases (e.g. Salesforce, Bloomerang) and CRM systems is a plus.
● Experience managing donor pipelines and personalized stewardship strategies.
● Ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying connected to the team.
● Communicate proactively with the development team and leadership on progress and priorities.

Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Claris Health’s pay ranges vary based on work location. As part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
