We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride. About the opportunity  As a Facility Manager you’ll lead the strategic and day-to-day management of our Gateway processing operations. You’ll be responsible for driving consistently high service standards for our customers while ensuring the facility delivers on safety, performance, and financial outcomes.Reporting to the Processing North Manager - Victoria, this role has end-to-end accountability for the operation and will play a critical part in the development and execution of One Network. You’ll also work closely with onsite Border agencies, including ABF and DAFF, to support the protection of Australia from prohibited items and biosecurity risks, while maintaining Australia Post’s commitment to reliable and high-quality service.What you’ll deliver with us In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for driving high performance, safety, and continuous improvement across the Gateway Processing Facility. Your focus will be on delivering reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operations while fostering a customer-first culture, supporting our people, and meeting key operational and financial targets.You’ll also:Lead and manage processing operations across international inbound and outbound flows, ensuring compliance with 77G requirements, Express Post standards, and full utilisation of the air freighter network.Work closely with Border agencies (ABF & DAFF) to ensure facility-level agreements are met, supporting biosecurity, regulatory compliance, and the protection of Australia’s borders.Oversee resource allocation, labour planning, and contractor compliance to adapt to changing operational requirements while optimising efficiency.Champion change and innovation, including the implementation of new processing equipment, automation, and lean methodologies, to build a world-class, best-practice parcel network.Drive financial accountability by managing the facility’s operating budget, identifying cost-out opportunities, and achieving service performance and cost-to-serve objectives.Foster a customer-centric workplace culture, ensuring strong collaboration across facilities, proactive issue resolution, and continuous improvement of service outcomes.Lead with safety and people at the core, creating an inclusive, high-performing, and community-focused environment that lives the One Australia Post values.About you   You’re a seasoned leader with deep experience managing complex processing operations, skilled at balancing operational performance, compliance, and people leadership in fast-paced environments. You bring a proven ability to drive efficiency, lead change, and build strong stakeholder relationships, including with unions and Border agencies.You’ll also:Demonstrate expertise in leading multi-shift operations within logistics or processing, with a strong track record in delivering operational efficiencies and customer-focused outcomes.Navigate industrial relations with confidence, engaging staff, unions, and representative associations in a consultative and collaborative way while managing workplace change.Lead with safety and compliance at the forefront, ensuring strict adherence to OH&S, regulatory, and legislative requirements, including 77G compliance and Express Post processing standards.Influence and deliver outcomes in a matrix environment, effectively managing ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and achieving results beyond direct span of control.Apply strong financial and business acumen, managing budgets, KPIs, and resources to deliver service performance, cost efficiency, and sustainable growth.Foster a resilient and adaptable team culture, providing leadership through change programs while building capability and accountability across diverse teams.How we’ll deliver for youJoin one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse workforces in Australia, with people of all ages, genders and walks of lifeWe deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day.
