 SUMMARY 

Accurate Energetic Systems, LLC, a leader in the manufacture of explosive products for commercial, military, and aerospace applications, is in search of a Project Manager to join our growing team in middle TN.  The candidate is expected to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety is the top priority, followed by quality and manufacturing.  The ideal candidate will have good mechanical aptitude with hands on experience, prosper in a hands-on manufacturing environment, and have a demonstrated history of managing various sized projects or programs.   

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and contract requirements on programs to ensure all customer requirements are met.
  • Manage customer programs and internal projects to ensure all requirements such as schedule, budget, and resources are met.
  • Participate in the quoting process by reviewing customer requirements; assisting in a bid/no-bid decision; and providing tooling/equipment costs, raw materials costs, packaging, cycle times, and labor hours.
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned projects.
  • Maintain project budgets and adjust according to needs as they arise.
  • Track performance and analyze the completion of key project milestones.
  • Document and report progress to leadership.
  • Formulate project parameters and assign responsibilities to the appropriate employees while monitoring the project team goals and milestones.
  • Assist the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager in navigating the implementation phase of a project.
  • Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status.
  • Create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.
  • Review project tasks and initiate the necessary actions.
  • Develop specifications for the project's needed equipment.
  • Create frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection.
  • Develop contractual quality requirements and assist the Quality Manager during the implementation phase of projects.
  • Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable regulations, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Travel frequency is minimal. Occasional travel may be required to meet with customers or vendors.

   QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS 

  • PMP Certification preferred, but not required.  Equivalent skill and proven work history equivalent will be considered. 
  • Experience with proposals and implementation of government contracts preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.  
  • Experience with Project Management software such as Microsoft Project, or other, is preferred.
  • SolidWorks experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Teamwork and motivational skills
  • Cost control and budgeting skill
  • Conflict resolution and problem solving. 
  • An understanding of machinery, tooling, electro-mechanical systems a plus.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both as an individual and within a team, think outside of the box, maintain schedule and budget, but do so with strict adherence to safety and operating regulations.
  • Candidate must possess strong analytical skills and a desire to take a hands-on approach to solving problems.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:   

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or Equivalent skill and relevant work history will be considered.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

  • A good mix of office and computer work, combined with hands-on processes in the production plant. The hands-on requirements are to develop and prove out processes for the implementation of process flow production lines.
