Description

Role:

Primary responsibility is to control and collect past due loans to minimize losses, in all stages of delinquency in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Contacts delinquent accounts. Advises and counsels members of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment. Takes appropriate action to bring account to a current status. As necessary, helps members create custom payment plans to repay the credit union.
  2. Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers. Makes recommendations to repossess collateral when arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful.
  3. Sets up and maintains accurate files and records all collection activity.
  4. Maintains communication with outside counsel in regards to the status of bankruptcy and judgments.
  5. Monitors the status of insurance on collateralized loans.
  6. Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of collection experience preferred.
  • A high school education or GED required.
  • Ability to work regular full time hours.
  • Ability to work on-site at designated location.
  • Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
  • Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must be bondable

Ergonomic Considerations:

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time (6 to 7 hours per day).
  • Must be able to view a computer screen, use a keyboard to enter information, and manipulate a mouse.
  • Job includes some repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Ability to operate office machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
