Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY (MOW) is a leading senior service provider in Greater Cincinnati. Our mission is to deliver essential services that promote the independence of seniors so they may remain in the comfort of their own homes. We are an official member of Meals on Wheels America, and our regional organization is one of the largest in the country. Every year, we reach nearly 10,000 seniors throughout 13 counties with our services.
The Meals on Wheels Nutrition Site PACE Assistant is a full-time (30-35 hours per week), Monday - Friday days only position in which the Assistant will work at the PACE nutrition site primarily and fill as needed at traditional nutrition sites.
Medical, dental and vision benefits available day one. Ten paid holidays per year and paid time off accrual starts day one. $19 per hour to start.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Heating and serving meals, communicating with on-site dietician to meet client needs, adherence to nutrition site requirements and paperwork, cleaning the congregate space and dishes, compiling daily meal and supply orders.
TYPICAL WORK CONDITIONS: Work is performed in the congregate meal space at the nutrition sites and at the Radcliff office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Obtain paperwork as required.
- Prepares the meal counts and supply order from all sites.
- Communicates with the participants.
- Receives and serves the food at acceptable temperatures.
- Assures that the congregate space is cleaned daily.
- Maintain records of food temps according to policy.
- Work with volunteers, community partners, and funding monitors.
- Works with dietician to meet client needs.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with related kitchen and client service experience.
- Must have basic computer skills and be able to learn new technology.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must have or be able to pass the test for safe food handling certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned up to and including participation and attendance at agency events.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive your own vehicle from home office to Nutrition Site
- Must pass a pre-employment physical.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, to include THC/marijuana, and background check.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically push and pull carts loaded with meals and other products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Have the ability to lift in excess of 40 pounds.
- Have the ability to work in kitchen environment.
- Have the ability to be aware of surrounding environment.
- Have the ability to hear and follow instructions.
- Must be in general good health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Have the ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Sit, bend, lift, move and stand for extended periods of time during working hours.
