OPPORTUNITY

AlpHa Measurement Solutions is experiencing aggressive growth through a global platform consolidation and recognizes a need to continuously strengthen its product development capabilities to meet increased demand and support continued growth. We have an open position for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Research & Development (R&D) / New Product Development (NPD) team.

Our privately held company has over 100 years of liquid sensing experience, is growing, and currently employs 230 team members in Houston Texas and 115 in Shanghai China. Our global headquarters is conveniently located in Houston at the southwest intersection of I-69 and Sam Houston Tollway, just north of Sugar Land.

POSITION SUMMARY

AlpHa Measurement Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D/New Product Development (NPD) team and accelerate the next generation of liquid-sensing products. You will convert product requirements into robust, manufacturable designs—owning CAD models and drawings, GD&T, and documentation—and build and validate engineering bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routings. Partnering with cross-functional R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality, you’ll define clear, testable specifications; develop test methods and fixtures to verify performance and quantify product characteristics; and conduct targeted research to inform new designs and continuous improvement. You will also enable a smooth transition from prototype to mass production by creating training and production documentation that supports scalable, repeatable builds. This is a high-impact role within a fast-growing organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CAD design: Produce precise 3D/2D models, assemblies, and drawings using appropriate design techniques, tools, and principles (including GD&T as needed).
  • BOM creation and validation: Review drawing packages to generate and/or validate engineering bills of materials and manufacturing routings aligned to assembly/work instructions and product design specifications.
  • NPI deployment: Support the rollout of new product designs to mass production through clear product documentation, training materials, and build support.
  • Cross-functional specifications: Collaborate with R&D partners to define clear, testable product design specifications.
  • Test development and validation: Develop test methods and fixtures to validate new product designs and quantify product performance against specifications.
  • Research and improvement: Conduct and evaluate research to inform new product development and drive product improvement initiatives.

This role is designed to offer a strong foundation in product engineering with the opportunity for career growth and advancement within a supportive team environment.
