This is a hybrid role that requires some on-site work (inside our Indianapolis, Indiana office). In addition to the on-site duties, there are additional responsibilities that can be completed outside of the office, resulting in this being a hybrid role.

The Senior Commercial Banker will build and develop profitable lending and deposit relationships with new and existing members. This will encompass both Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Lending. They will generate business leads via cold calling, networking, and existing members/contacts. The Senior Commercial Banker will consult with customers to best understand their business and to identify their financing goals/needs.

 

You will learn how to be the expert to best serve our members:

  • Responsible for analyzing all commercial lending loan requests and preparing written evaluations and recommendations for approvals. 
  • Responsible for structuring and negotiation of the pricing of all loan requests. 
  • Ensures the protection of the credit union’s interests in matters of adequate documentation, adherence to credit union’s policies, as well as various laws and regulations applicable to lending operations.

  • Service, maintain, and develop existing commercial and individual relationships. 
  • Participate in community and civic business functions to gain exposure for Elements Financial. 
  • Assist in the ongoing servicing and monitoring of commercial loans. 
  • Actively participate in sales meetings, training programs and requested marketing activities. 

 

You will help grow the business:

  • Responsible for business development of new commercial and individual relationships focusing on loans and deposits. 

 

You will continue to grow professionally:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape with the appropriate market areas. 
  • Continue to develop and maintain knowledge of industry practices, products, and professional growth. 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four (4) year degree in business, finance, marketing or equivalent. MBA Preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in commercial lending with a successful track record of generating loans. 
  • A proven record of quality loan growth and calling experience.     
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proven record of being a team player.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, credit analysis and negotiation skills. 
  • Commitment to “best in class” member service. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. 
  • Must be a successful self-manager. 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage skills, knowledge, and experience to invest in our community.
