We’re looking for an IT Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and enjoys being the go-to resource for keeping systems running smoothly. In this role, you’ll be the backbone of our internal IT operations—from onboarding new employees to troubleshooting technical issues, managing security, and ensuring our systems stay reliable and secure.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll collaborate with a diverse, multicultural team while building your skills across hardware, software, identity management, and security. Location(s): Chapel Hill, NC
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- First line of support for employees, troubleshooting software, hardware, and system issues (Windows, macOS, MS Suite, etc.)
- Set up new hires for success by provisioning accounts, laptops, and access—and manage offboarding securely
- Maintain and track company hardware inventory with meticulous detail
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and identity management (O365, Active Directory, Azure)
- Support corporate applications and ensure smooth access across systems
- Document IT processes, keeping records organized and easy to use
- Oversee physical security tools (like key fobs) and virtual environments (VMs, Hyper-V, Docker)
- Continuously assess and improve system functionality, efficiency, and security
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of IT experience (professional experience a plus)
- Experience administering user accounts (Active Directory or similar)
- Experience with Azure and Microsoft O365.
- Keen attention to detail; excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to maintain good documentation and records of all systems and procedures
- Good interpersonal skills to support internal users and address their needs
- Demonstrate initiative and exercise good judgement (IE: in starting tasks, asking questions, identifying, and discussing problems, ability to structure own work, stay on task)
- Ability to be agile and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux based system management
- macOS and Windows familiarity
- Good understanding of security protocols
- Experience with managing virtual machines (Hyper-V, Docker)
