  • As part of the IT team, this position will be responsible for the support and expansion of our business system applications and functions.
  • These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining, and supporting existing applications within the Microsoft suite of applications including Dynamics 365, PowerApps, PowerAutomate and related interfaces. The management and integration of Powell learning scope with the Brainstorm Platform and the user related support and training related to Sales, Applications Engineering, Project Management, Field Service Operations and the Microsoft Suite of Applications
  • The role is expected to contribute towards the digital transformation of Powell’s data, and its use and consumption via a modern data stack

 

In this position, under the supervision and guidance of a Lead Analyst, the right candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

Analysis and Solution Definition:

  • Support end-users in a Production environment, resolve incidents, data errors, and offer guidance on best practices for use of applications 
  • Analyze and review on-going (internal) customer requests for new business system and process enhancements directly and indirectly related to project accounting, design, or communication 
  • Identify and develop both short-term and long-term strategic solutions with business leadership to directly improve business efficiencies or outputs 
  • Help to create and support complex cross functional solutions that may include and impact multiple business departments, application modules, business processes, and existing custom integrations or extensions
  • Maintain both Production and Non-Production environments to support technical team development efforts and user acceptance testing as applicable 
  • Support data collection through the design, implementation and insights for internal and external surveys.

Project Execution, Delivery and Support:

  • Advise and contribute to the development of functional specifications for mappings/interfaces, packages, procedures and scheduled jobs
  • Consistently provide high-quality project deliverables and make recommendations for IT functional project standards and methodologies
  • Support the development of training materials for the business users and, if needed, assist in the delivery of training content
  • Assist and ensure business end-users are able to troubleshoot and identify root cause(s) of system errors 
    Properly identify, track, report, and resolve issues in a timely manner

Scope/Accountability:

  • Provide production support for many modules and/or business systems within the business area they support
  • Responsible for the on-time and quality of their assigned tasks and activities through the IT project lifecycle

Decision Making, Discretion & Latitude:

  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks within a defined scope, timeline, and resource budget, with guidance from area Lead  
  • Requires excellent organizational and leadership skills and the ability to prioritize assigned tasks 
  • Requires the ability to build strong working relationships

 

Experience and Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 1-3 years of functional application experience, working with the Microsoft production suite of applications including the Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365, Teams, SharePoint Online and the Office Suite
  • Functional experience, either directly or indirectly, in handing break/fix support as well as continuous improvement from small to large projects. 
  • Experience conducting and implementing user acceptance testing, user training and the preparation of training/reference materials for software releases and upgrades

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple IT initiatives simultaneously 
  • Understands the concepts and methodologies associated with the areas of IT Software Development Lifecycle  
  • Supports IT operational and key controls and supporting systems
  • Excellent organizational, communication & documentation skills with high attention to detail- 
  • Ability to interact well with all levels within the organization
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to complete projects and provide business support at critical times
