Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute reader promotions, making all necessary arrangements for attendance at outdoor events to increase newspaper copy sales, reader engagement, and retention.
- Develop and deliver compelling promotional campaigns, including competitions, reader offers, supplements and marketing campaigns that create large-scale awareness of this activity.
- Working with our creative studio to ensure all promotional materials and artwork are prepared on time and to brand standards.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses to ensure promotions have a sponsored partner.
- Collaborate with multiple internal teams to maximise the reach and effectiveness of all initiatives.
- Coordinate marketing materials, including point-of-sale displays, our own media, social media, and other targeted channels.
- Coordinate other projects when necessary, including book publishing and one-off events.
- Manage end-to-end event attendance, selling the region's favourite newspapers: order stock, coordinate staff, track sales, and ensure smooth on-site operations.
- Be available outside standard hours, when necessary, to oversee event operations (issues-only basis).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail — able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in a promotion, marketing or events is a plus, but full training will be given.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills — both written and verbal.
- A flexible approach to work, with the willingness to attend events and be available when needed.
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, targeted environment and collaborates effectively across departments.
- A full driving licence is required due to the field-based nature of this role.
