Are you passionate about creating engaging customer promotions, delivering positive interaction at events and results-driven?

We're looking to appoint a Promotions and Consumer Event Sales Executive, who'll need all these attributes, to join our successful team in Norwich. You'll be working on effective and exciting in-paper promotions and attendance at events across the region, helping us to improve copy sales (newspapers and magazines). The successful applicant will represent some of East Anglia's biggest brands, including the Eastern Daily Press, East Anglian Daily Times, Norwich Evening News and Ipswich Star.

In this hybrid role, you’ll be based at our Norwich office (minimum two days per week) and in the field as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute reader promotions, making all necessary arrangements for attendance at outdoor events to increase newspaper copy sales, reader engagement, and retention.
  • Develop and deliver compelling promotional campaigns, including competitions, reader offers, supplements and marketing campaigns that create large-scale awareness of this activity.
  • Working with our creative studio to ensure all promotional materials and artwork are prepared on time and to brand standards.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses to ensure promotions have a sponsored partner.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal teams to maximise the reach and effectiveness of all initiatives.
  • Coordinate marketing materials, including point-of-sale displays, our own media, social media, and other targeted channels.
  • Coordinate other projects when necessary, including book publishing and one-off events.
  • Manage end-to-end event attendance, selling the region's favourite newspapers: order stock, coordinate staff, track sales, and ensure smooth on-site operations.
  • Be available outside standard hours, when necessary, to oversee event operations (issues-only basis).

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail — able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in a promotion, marketing or events is a plus, but full training will be given.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — both written and verbal.
  • A flexible approach to work, with the willingness to attend events and be available when needed.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, targeted environment and collaborates effectively across departments.
  • A full driving licence is required due to the field-based nature of this role.

Why Join us?

  • Make a real impact on regional media and local communities through innovative campaigns.
  • A supportive team culture that encourages creativity and collaboration.
  • A starting salary of £24,000 per annum.
  • Monthly bonus scheme.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Other benefits you'd associate with a large company.
