Job Description

As the Logistics Project Manager your job will encompass different levels of responsibilities that require professionalism and extreme confidentiality. The Logistics Project Manager serves as a liaison between the office, customers, and external vendors to promote a cohesive approach to doing business. The ideal candidate has an inherent ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Logistics, warehouse consolidation and transportation, experience required.

This position will be a pivotal member of our team, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the successful execution of complex logistics projects from inception to completion. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing supply chain processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while meeting quality and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining objectives, timelines, resources, and create strategic approaches to optimize logistics operations and align project goals with the company's overall strategy.
  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of logistics coordinators, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Assign tasks, set clear expectations, and provide guidance to ensure effective teamwork and project success.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to allocate necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, and budget, to execute projects efficiently. Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as needed.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in logistics operations and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Proactively address issues to maintain project momentum and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication channels with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, team members, and upper management. Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and potential roadblocks.
  • Establish measurable KPIs such as delivery times, cost savings, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Analyze data and metrics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that goods are handled, stored, and transported in accordance with industry standards and client specifications. Conduct regular audits to maintain product integrity.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure adherence to financial guidelines. Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality or project objectives.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to review and negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, verify, and invoice vendors and address any issues that may arise during project execution.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in logistics and supply chain management. Leverage this knowledge to propose innovative solutions and improve existing processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of 3 years in managing logistics projects
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams toward common goals.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, coupled with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in logistics.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
