The VUU Global Assistant provides administrative, programmatic, and student support to the Academic Affairs department, which oversees international programs, global partnerships, and study abroad initiatives. This position plays a key role in supporting students, faculty, and visiting scholars engaged in global learning opportunities. The VUU Global Assistant ensures smooth daily operations, effective communication, and coordination of activities that promote the university’s mission of fostering global awareness and cultural exchange.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support including scheduling, correspondence, filing, and database management for VUU Global.
- Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, and international partners seeking information about study abroad, exchange, and global engagement programs.
- Assist with planning and coordinating international student orientations, cultural events, and workshops.
- Support the application, registration, and advising processes for study abroad participants and visiting students.
- Maintain accurate records of student participation, program compliance, and international partnerships.
- Help manage communications and marketing for VUU Global, including newsletters, flyers, and social media updates.
- Coordinate logistics for visiting scholars, guests, and delegations in partnership with other university offices.
- Track and reconcile program-related expenses, ensuring compliance with university financial policies.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree with relevant experience considered.
- One to three years of experience in higher education, international programs, or administrative support.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
