We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Central Region. This role can be based in either Colorado Springs, CO or Austin, TX.
The Lead APP is responsible for the quality and clinical performance of nurse practitioners and physician assistants within the Central Region. This role will work with assigned providers to meet all budgeted volume expectations, to ensure that all regulatory and quality standards are being met, and that all providers are coordinating with physicians. The Lead APP supports interviewing and hiring of APPs in the region, ensures training and development is consistently implemented, and develops and publishes APP schedules. This role is also responsible for patient care, working under the supervision of and in collaboration with CPIhealth’s physicians to diagnose symptoms and implement treatment plans to reduce pain and restore function, including performing medical histories and examining and treating patients as part of a healthcare team. This role requires flexibility to provide coverage across CPIhealth locations to facilitate APP coverage as needed. This role will target ~20-25% administrative time with ~75-80% clinical time but will be adjusted by Management based on regional needs.
Essential Functions
Provide leadership, staff development and management of key services in accordance with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
Manage assigned APP staff, including provider scheduling, hiring, training and development, and coaching of direct reports.
Complete performance evaluations and initiate personnel actions, such as merit increases, promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, and terminations. This will include coordinating with Patient Care Managers, Medical Directors, operational managers and physicians concerning performance of APP provider and implant staff.
Conduct APP market meetings monthly (at a minimum) and monthly (required) 1:1 meetings.
Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators, in coordination with the Medical Director and VP of Operations.
Support the development of regional strategic planning, including fiscal management and revenue goals.
Work with broader set of management and leads to help implement Ancillary services in their respective regions.
Facilitate monthly APP case review process.
Provide appropriate and efficient clinical care to patients, based on generally accepted pain medicine practice and in accordance with guidelines and policies developed by CPIhealth and as directed by CPIhealth’s Medical Director and other physicians.
Embraces CPIhealth’s mission and reflects the clinical vision of its physicians and providers.
Provide appropriate professional referrals to physicians, therapists, and imaging.
Document patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
Confer with CPIhealth physicians on assessment, diagnosis, and plan of treatment.
Maintain contact with referring Physicians. Participate in marketing activities.
Attend to in-patient consults when required by physicians.
Attend regularly scheduled company and peer meetings.
Maintain professional credentials and take a leadership role in peer education.
Staff and peer training and motivation.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.

Licenses & Certifications
Current APP Licensure.
Current DEA number.
Current and valid driver’s license.
Current and valid proof of auto insurance required.
BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire.
ACLS certificated or obtain certification within the first year of hire.
