We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Senior Advanced Development Engineer within our Engineering team to help support our Automotive business. As a Senior Advanced Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to research mobility industry trends and develop best design solutions with your team. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by leading innovation and developing new product designs that speak to the customer. The team you will be working with is collaborative, and values positive challenging environment.
As a Senior Advanced Development Engineer, you will:
- Lead the innovation and new business development efforts to design, prototype, and validate new product design solutions in support of customer and internal core team timing requirements.
- Establish, maintain, and develop regular contact with internal and external customers, suppliers, innovative companies, and research institutes on all relevant topics in accordance with LPA strategy and product roadmaps.
- Scout and assess new technologies relevant to LPA strategy and product roadmaps.
- Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, process methods / standards, design and program information, and records to support/procure reliable patent actions.
- Ensure all innovations are reviewed for best practice from a design for assembly and design for ergonomics perspective to ensure competitiveness.
To be successful, you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in software or electrical engineering, or equivalent
- Embedded software development, model-based software development for mechatronic applications
- C/C++ programming
- Familiar with latest software development processes and tools
- Experience in AI or app development is an advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant field
- Experienced with product development in the automotive industry or start-ups
- Proven history of idea generation and implementation
- Creative and open-minded, out-of-the-box thinking
- Hands-on mentality, self-motivated
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good problem solving and business development skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams in an international environment
