We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join the Bidding Team in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane! In this role, you will effectively lead the estimating team in preparing and validating accurate cost estimates for tenders and ongoing projects, provide technical guidance and market analysis, oversee team operations, ensure compliance with corporate procedures, and may travel to support estimate preparation.

Your focus will include:

 

  • Lead Estimating Strategy: Oversee the development of direct and indirect cost estimates for tenders, ensuring alignment with company standards, estimating software, and structured breakdowns.
  • Ensure Estimate Accuracy & Quality: Maintain high-quality outputs from the estimating team, integrating construction methods, schedules, unit rates, and risk analysis to support confident bid pricing.
  • Coordinate Tender Deliverables: Manage the preparation of all estimate-related documentation, including qualifications, clarifications, and vendor/subcontractor negotiations.
  • Integrate Systems & Compliance: Ensure estimates are linked to project schedules and cost systems, while adhering to corporate procedures and contributing to continuous process improvement.
  • Apply Sector Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of civil/infrastructure construction, Australian standards, EBA agreements, and productivity factors to guide cost modeling and project feasibility.

 

 

What you will bring to the team:

 

  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in the engineering or related field
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in the building, engineering and or Infrastructure/Construction industry
  • Considerable experience as a Senior Estimator, in tender preparation for contracts congruent with the Company’s operations
  • Proficiency in the use of the different Estimating software’s
  • Demonstrable leadership capabilities, communication, coaching, mentoring and developing the estimating team
  • Preferred to have engineering, construction experience with an Infrastructure focus in conjunction with a Senior Estimators role
