Description

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy part-time IT Support Technician to support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of our technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day IT operations, troubleshoot issues, coordinate IT projects, and help ensure that systems and tools are aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide administrative and technical support to the Director of IT.
  • Assist with maintaining hardware, software, and network systems across the organization.
  • Help manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Coordinate IT-related procurement, including equipment and software licenses.
  • Track and update IT inventory, including computers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of staff from a technology perspective.
  • Help document IT procedures, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Monitor ticketing systems and assist in resolving support requests.
  • Assist with data security protocols and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR if applicable).
  • Coordinate with external vendors or consultants when necessary.
  • Assist in the implementation of new IT systems or upgrades.
  • Stay informed on current technology trends and best practices relevant to non-profit environments.

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support or coordination role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windows OS, and basic networking.
  • Experience with help desk/ticketing systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Preferred:
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Azure, AWS).
  • Experience working in a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Understanding of data privacy and nonprofit compliance standards

Travel:  May be Required.
