The Opportunity 

Join Arup’s Strategy Office and play a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction. Working closely with the Executive Board, the Chief Strategy Officer, and COOs for Business & Markets and Performance & Operations, you’ll support the delivery and impact measurement of Arup’s corporate strategy. This global, internally focused role is designed to strengthen market insight capabilities and deliver strategic recommendations that guide key decisions across the firm.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver biannual strategy reviews and support strategic projects in collaboration with the Global Corporate Strategy Lead 

  • Lead strategic analyses on market entry, growth, performance optimization, and transformation 

  • Provide expertise in market sizing, competitive analysis, scenario planning, and ROI modelling 

  • Support Board-level strategy initiatives and quarterly KPI reviews 

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and integrate diverse data sources into strategic recommendations 

  • Manage external consultants and ensure alignment with internal expectations 

  • Build and maintain a centralized knowledge base of market intelligence and strategic benchmarks 

  • Collaborate with portfolio leaders to align business plans with global strategy 

  • Develop tools and methodologies to grow Arup’s Market Insights function 

  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including capability building and long-term strategic planning 

 

Success Measures 

  • Delivery of two strategy reviews and five strategic support projects annually 

  • Strengthening of KPI frameworks and balanced scorecard processes 

  • Development of internal and external networks to support strategic initiatives 

 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Experience within strategy consulting or corporate strategy, ideally in a global context 

  • Expertise in Arup’s core sectors: transport, energy, and property 

  • Degree in business, economics, public policy, or related field 

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with strategic modelling tools 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with executive stakeholders
